17 suspected Boko Haram members, on Monday surrendered to the Nigerian military, due to the Federal Government’s promise of amnesty. One of them, Ahmed Alhassan, disclosed this when Rogers Nicholas, a Major-General, paraded them at the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri. Alhassan confessed they heard President Buhari’s appeal through the radio, at their camp known as “Marcas of Nguma”, around the shores of Lake Chad region and gave up the struggle.

The dismissed Corporal who led the armed robbery gang that attacked commercial banks in Offa, Kwara State, Michael Adikwu has told detectives why he killed many people that day. Adikwu told operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IG) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) that he personally killed over 20 people, mostly policemen during the operation, in revenge of what they did to him.
