1. Former presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN, Oby Ezekwesili has officially resigned from the party.

She consequently returned her ACPN membership card and all other party items as she officially resigned.

2. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has concluded arrangements to present the 2019 budget of Lagos State today (Tuesday), according to Daily Independent.

The Budget presentation will come barely two day after Asiwaju Bola Tinubu brokered peace among the Governor and the Lagos State lawmakers.

3. The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) says the latest endorsement of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dealt a blow to the ambition of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Imo Ugochinyere, CUPP spokesperson, in a statement on Monday, said despite all the alleged divisive Buhari’s actions, all the regions have decided what is best for Nigeria.

4. Two persons have been reportedly injured as supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC, clashed in Abraka community in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that no casualty was recorded at the time of filing this report but there were bonfires around major streets of the university community.

5. The former deputy governor of Benue State, Steve Lawani, on Monday escaped death after some hoodlums attacked him on his way to Ado LGA of the state for campaign.

Report said the attackers, who were armed insisted that the former deputy governor must not campaign on their land or he would be killed.

6. The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State looks set to participate in the general elections following a Stay of Execution Order granted by the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt.

The Appeal Court led by Justice Ali Gumel granted the stay of Execution on the Judgement of Justice Kolawole Omotosho which nullified all Primaries of the APC and also restrained INEC from fielding the party’s candidates in the elections.

7. The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (Shiites) on Monday declared that President Muhammadu Buhari was on his way out of office.

IMN also alerted that it had obtained a secret circular written by the Department of State Services (DSS) which was dispatched to all Service Chiefs, Inspector General of Police and heads of other security agencies.

8. The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has endorsed the candidacy of President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the February 16 presidential election.

The National President of NULGE, Comrade Ibrahim Khaleel, announced this on Monday when he led a delegation to meet the Chairman of Buhari Support Organisation (BSO) who is also the Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Drugs Abuse, Brigadier General Buba Marwa (rtd), on Monday, DailyTrust reports.

9. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has asked the Nigerian government to provide receipt of shortfall of teachers’ salary and promotion arrears released.

President of ASUP, Dr Usman Dutse, made the demand in a statement on Monday, noting that evidence of payment of funds by government will determine its next move to call off the strike.

10. The All Progressives Congress, APC, Caucus in the Senate has filed a suit at the Supreme Court, against the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, with regards to the suit he earlier filed over the suspension of Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senate leader, Ahmad Lawan pointed out that the decision to go to court was arrived at during the meeting of the senators on Monday.
