1. It was a terrible scene in Gombe state on Monday when a female suicide bomber blew up herself close to the stadium where president Jonathan had his campaign earlier. Report says no fewer than two people were killed in the blast, while over 20 sustained varied degrees of injuries.
2. The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has cautioned Ex-militants from the Niger Delta against threatening former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. TY Danjuma. The forum said the threat on the life of Danjuma was equally an affront on the person of President Goodluck Jonathan.
3. The Police in Rivers state on Monday confirmed that there was a coordinated attack on four High Courts in Rivers state. It announced that the High court branches in Isiokpo, Ahaoda, Degema and the headquarters in port Harcourt were all bombed by some unknown assailants.
4. The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari has said that he will ban the importation of rice and tomatoes as well as other basic items if elected into office. He said the ban would be aimed at strengthening the nation’s economy through local agriculture.
5. First Lady, patience Jonathan has denied media report that she was paid N3bn by the NDDC before the approval of the 2015 budget for the agency. She said the report was empty as the passage of budget was the sole responsibility of the National Assembly.
6. The Federal Government after meeting with the 36 states Commissioners for Education, including the FCT concluded that schools should not be shut down for the coming elections. The Minister, Ibrahim Shekarau presided over the meeting.
7. National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu yesterday said the party had gone through difficult times following the defection of five of its governors to the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC. He however said that despite the defection, the party had continued to wax stronger.
8. Lagos Socialite and business tycoon, Chief molade Okoya- Thomas is dead. Report says he died at the age of 79 and until his death, he was the Chancellor of the Lagos State University.
9. Report says some political thugs on Sunday killed three persons in clashes that occurred in different places in Lagos. The clashes occurred at Ajegengule and Lagos Island.
10. Report also has it that President Goodluck Jonathan has received detailed reports of the audit carried out on NNPC by some forensic auditors. He has as a result directed the Auditor General of the Federation to study the reports and make available to the public important highlights.
