1. Nigerian Military on Monday sacked Boko Haram terrorists from Bama in Borno State. Report says the terrorists suffered heavy casualty during the operation.
2. About 10 vehicles were destroyed on Monday during an attack launched on the convoy of Aishat Buhari, wife of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari during a visit to Ilorin, Kwara state. The incident occurred at the popular Ilorin film house area near the Emir’s palace.
3. Following the attack on Aisha Buhari, wife of the APC Presidential candidate, Gen. Buhari, in Kwara State capital, Ilorin, the APC has asked the security agents to caution the PDP and their thugs to stop their constant attacks on its members.
4. An explosion occurred at Amokwe Udi in Udi local Government Area of Enugu State on Monday by 5pm, leaving several people injured. Report says the incident resulted from some fireworks stored in a room in the area.
5. Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka has revealed in a video sermon that President Jonathan and his wife, Patience were planning to kill him due to his viral comment on the running of the government and the coming elections.
6. The International Criminal Court on Monday said Nigeria’s First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, would be prosecuted. The court further disclosed that it had commenced preliminary examinations on happenings in Nigeria.
7. INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega has said that he is not being put under any kind of pressure to leave office. Jega said despite the calls at different quarters for his resignation, he has not received any letter of termination of appointment just yet, insisting that he will be doing a great disservice to the nation if he resigns at this point.
8. There was a protest in Lagos yesterday by some people believed to be pro-Jonathan, who were calling for the sack of the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega. The protesters who carried placards, banners and other dangerous weapons shut down major roads in Lagos.
9. Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo has said that Boko Haram insurgents have legitimate grievances. The ex-President while speaking on Monday during a global education conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates said poor education was largely responsible for the ongoing violent campaign in the North.
10. Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi has disclosed that there were ongoing plans to eliminate the APC governorship candidate in the state, Dakuku Peterside, alleging that the PDP and the Police are on the same page on the plot to kill Peterside.
