1. Some states of the federation have received another tranche of the Paris Club refund from the Nigerian government.

Ekiti, which got N9.5billion in the first tranche, has received another N4.772billion; Abia got N5.715billion.

2. Indications have emerged that former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani – Kayode, will be contesting the position of the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Fani-Kayode’s Media Adviser, Jude Ndukwe said should the position be zoned to the South-West, his principal would be among those to contest.

3. Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, Tuesday suspended more top shots of the National Health Insurance Scheme.

The Ministry of Health noted hat the suspension of the officers was based on the activities of the investigative panel of inquiry and the desire to have an uninterrupted and robust investigation of all petitions at the National Health Insurance Scheme, including security reports on maladministration and mismanagement by officials of the Agency.

4. Several persons were killed Monday morning after a female suicide bomber blew up herself in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The suicide bomber was said to have detonated the bomb at a mosque in the state capital, killing no fewer than ten Islamic worshippers.

5. Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has inaugurated his 2019 presidential campaign.

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors’ Forum, who kickstarted his presidential campaign on his Facebook page, said he is willing to take Nigeria to the desired level.

6. At least, six persons have reportedly died in a fatal auto mishap, which occurred on Monday at the Sagamu interchange, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The six persons, one male and five females, were a driver and passengers of a commercial Nissan Quest Sport Utility Vehicle with number plate, FKJ 297 AJ.

7. Governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, has insisted that what Nigeria needed now is not restructuring but “repackaging.”

According to him, restructuring meant different things to the various geo-political zones in the country, noting that it was not an option for the nation until a common meaning of the term was agreed upon by all.

8. The Nigerian government Monday refuted the claims by former National Security Adviser, NSA, to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retd) that the Jonathan’s administration cleared the North-East of Boko Haram terrorists to make elections possible in 2015.

It described Dasuki’s claim as not only faulty but laughable as some local government areas in the North-East were under the control of Boko Haram before the President Muhammadu Buhari government came to dismantle all the areas of control by the Islamic sect.

9. The Naira on Monday, maintained its stability at the parallel market as it stayed unchanged against the Dollar, Pound Sterling and Euro.

​T​he local currency closed the day at N36​5​, N470 and N420 against the Dollar, Pound Sterling and the Euro respectively.

10. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has raised the alarm over the recent visit of the former Prime Minister of Britain, Mr Tony Blair to Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir el-Rufai, saying the visit was to instigate another ethno-religious crisis.

The pro-Biafra’s publicity secretary, Emma Powerful said the former prime minister’s visit to Nigeria was targeted at causing violence against Christians and Biafra supporters in Northern Nigeria.
