1. Operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team, IRT, have arrested one Michael Adikwu, an ex-policeman for leading the Offa bank robbery. Adikwu was reportedly dismissed in 2012 by the Kwara State Police Command for allegedly aiding the escape of some robbery suspects.

2. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has given all the political parties for the July 14 governorship election in Ekiti State May 15 deadline to submit the names of their candidates and their running mates.

3. Some top members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have issued a seven-day ultimatum, asking the party to address their complaints of marginalization.They gave the ultimatum in letter which was addressed to the National chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and signed by Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, and Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

4. The Senate Wednesday declared that the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris was not fit to hold any public office both within and outside the country.The upper chamber also said that Idris ws an enemy of democracy for refusing to appear before it.

5. The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has said the Force does not owe the Nigerian senate any apology in discharging its duties. Idris in a statement issued by Jimoh Moshood, on Wednesday, in response to comments made by Senators over his refusal to honour their invitation said he was being witch-hunt by the Senate.

6. Report says the deadly Ebola Virus Disease, which raged in some African countries including Nigeria in 2014, has staged a return in northwestern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC, killing 17 people.

7. The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has said any bank that deducts monies illegally from a customer’s account for products and services would be forced to refund the money to the customer with interest.Fada David, Consumer Complaints Management, Consumer Protection Department, CBN, said this in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday in Abuja.

8. Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote has been named by Forbes as one of the most influential and powerful persons in the world. Dangote, the only Nigerian on the exclusive list, was 66th position on the list.

9. No fewer than nine people were killed by unknown armed militia in Tutuwa community in Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State, on Wednesday. The attack was confirmed by the spokesperson of the State Police Command, David Misal while interacting with journalists.

10. The chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Professor Itse Sagay has blasted the Senate for describing Ibrahim Idris as the enemy of democracy. Sagay in a statement said the action of the senators who visited their colleague who is facing trail was even more undemocratic.
