1. President Muhammadu Buhari has inaugurated members of the newly constituted Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC) with a charge for reliable data that truly reflects the happenings in the country.

2. President Muhammadu Buhari has come under criticism for extending the service years of his Chief Personal Security Officer, Abdulkarim Dauda, by four years. The move has been described as illegal and a usurpation of the powers of the Police Service Commission.

3. The Senate has commenced debate on the general principles of the 2020 Appropriation Bill of N10.33 trillion. The lawmakers took turns debating the Bill at plenary on Wednesday.

4. Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has urged parents and youths to support enactment of effective law against sexual harassment in workplaces and educational institutions.

5. 6. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, stormed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Zamfara State and recovered four bags containing cash believed to be part of the N84.6 million ad hoc staff allowances diverted by officials of the commission.

7. Junaid Mohammed, the leader of Northern Elders Forum, has warned that any President that tries to implement the report of the 2014 National Conference will be kicked out by the North in no time.

8. The theft of over 450,000 barrels of crude within three months has unsettled oil firms. The operators are calling on the Federal Government to come to their aid and rescue their businesses.

9. The Senate said that it would reduce the number of political parties participating in elections in the country from the current 91 to five through legislation. The Senate stated this at a meeting with the leadership of INEC led by its chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, in the National Assembly, Abuja.

10. President Muhammadu Buhari has accused international NGOs working in the North East of scamming Nigeria and their donors, in that their impact in addressing the humanitarian problems in the region does not match the millions of dollars they claim to have spent.
