1. The South East Peoples Assembly, SEPA, has asked the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to immediately revoke the bail granted the leader of the Indigenous People oF Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu by Justice Binta Nyako in the next seven days.
SEPA, in a letter dated May 31, signed by its President, Prince Chukwuemeka Okorie, appealed to the Chief Judge of the high court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, to revoke Kanu’s bail because he is struggling for relevance and has continued to flout the conditions attached to his bail.
2. Unknown gunmen Wednesday kidnapped the lawmaker representing Takai/Sumaila Federal constituency of Kano State, Garba Durbunde.
The assailants were said to have abducted Durbunde at Jere, along Abuja Road, Kaduna, while returning to Abuja after a trip to Kano. The legislator was released after an undisclosed ransom was paid.
3. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has planned to conduct supplementary examination for candidates who had difficulty in their registration and examination processes.
According to JAMB Registrar, Is-haq Oloyede, Anybody whose biometric could not be verified will be allowed to do the supplementary examination.
4. Former Super Eagles central defender, Taribo West has refuted the reports on social media that he is dead.
Taribo said contrary to the report that he died in London as a result of self-inflicted gun shot wounds, he is hale and hearty.
5. Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has granted permission to the Lagos State Government to embark upon a total reconstruction of the International Airport Road from Oshodi.
Osinbajo asked Governor Ambode to go ahead with the project unperturbed few weeks after the verbal war with his processor and Minister Works, Power and Housing Raji Fashola.
6. Nigerian Government has informed citizens that President Muhammadu Buhari is in competent hands in London where he is undergoing treatment.
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, told newsmen after the Federal Executive Council meeting that Buhari was responding to treatment and that there was no cause for alarm.
7. Nemesis has caught up with three of the militants involved in the kidnapping of six pupils from the Igbonla Model College, Epe area of Lagos.
This is just as the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris’ Special Intelligence Response Team IRT on Tuesday evening arrested three members of the gang in Benin, Edo State capital. They had gone to visit one of their members that was injured in a recent gun battle with security agents before the long arms of the law caught up with them.
8. Former Director of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, New Media, Deji Adeyanju, has stated that former President Goodluck Jonathan is currently broke.
According to Adeyanju, since leaving office, the former President frequently complained of experiencing paucity of fund, insisting that though Jonathan was incorrupt, most people around him were corrupt.
9. Benue State Police Command has uncovered an illegal firearms factory at Tse-Tyungu, Kyado District of Ukum Local Government Area of the state.
Three suspects have since been arrested in connection with the crime, just as several finished and unfinished firearms were also recovered after the raid.
10. Emmanuel Ayodele, 65, a retired director of the Federal Ministry of Finance has been reported dead after slumping at a Club in the Garki area of Abuja.
Ayodele was said to have parked his car outside the club premises and was walking into the facility when he fell.
