1. The first civilian governor of Adamawa State, Abubakar Saleh Michika is reportedly in a state of coma at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, report says.
According to his son, Hafiz Saleh, Michika had been complaining to the state authorities that he needed to go for medical check-up but he was refused assistance.
2. The Social Democratic Party (SDP) says it is expecting governors under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the party.
SDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Alfa Mohammed, said the party will form the majority in the National Assembly before the 2019 general elections
3. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has vowed to stage fresh protests in 88 countries to compel the Federal Government to produce its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, noted that the absence of its leader in the country, did not mean that the struggle for Biafra was over.
4. About 53 policemen serving in the Presidential Villa, Abuja have staged a protest over their unpaid Risk Caution Allowances since 2015, when they were posted to the Presidency.
The aggrieved officers made the protest through in a petition sent to President Muhammadu Buhari.
5. John Oyegun, National Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) has declared that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina state is “dead and buried”. He said since hundreds of thousands of PDP members had defected to APC, then the party was completely dead and buried.
6. Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Saturday arrived Makurdi, the Benue State capital, to condole with the government and people of the state over recent herdsmen attacks.
Obasanjo, who was received at the airport by the state Governor, Samuel Ortom and other top government officials in the state, headed straight to the mass graveyard of the herdsmen attack victims where he laid a wreath.
7. The Federal Government on Saturday said its new vision for the Niger Delta was on course with two modular refineries to be installed in Delta and Rivers states almost ready.
It also said the Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State, would commence academic activities for the 2017/2018 academic year with 196 students.
8. The Nigerian Prisons Service has listed conditions that the United Kingdom must meet before it would be allowed to build structures at the Kirikiri Prison in Lagos State.
The NPS Spokesman, Francis Enobore, said the UK had yet to formally notify the Federal Government and the NPS about the plan to build a prison annex in Kirikiri.
9. As Benue State plays host to President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, the state governor has revealed the itinerary of the President.
According to Governor Samuel Ortom, during the visit, the President will make a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Benue State Council of Chiefs, Tor Tiv V, Prof. James Ortese Ayatse, at his residence in Makurdi
10. A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Ebenezer Babatope, said on Saturday the exit of Prof. Tunde Adeniran and Prof. Jerry Gana from the party would not diminish its strength.
Babatope, a former Minister of Transport, said although the two politicians contributed greatly to the PDP, the party should respect their decision to move on.
