1. No fewer than 30 people were yesterday killed along Damboa road when members of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram attacked some villagers, travellers and farmers between Maiduguri and Damboa road.
Residents of Dala Alamderi in Maiduguri said they brought back corpses of four of the victims, who HAD left home to attend to their farms.
2. Senator Shehu Sani (Kaduna Central) has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.
The lawmaker sent his resignation letter to the chairman of the APC in ward 6, Tudun Wada north, Kaduna.
3. Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is set to speak for the first time, since he resurfaced in Jerusalem on Friday.
Kanu will address Biafrans on Sunday, October 21, at 6pm.
4. Former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode on Saturday revealed that he spoke with the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
Fani-Kayode in a tweet, said Kanu, who suddenly reappeared in Jerusalem, promised to work with him to vote out President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
5. The military Operation WHIRL STROKE in Benue State has disclosed that it had recently killed 12 militia men loyal to the wanted militia leader, Terwase Akwaza also known as Gana.
The military also disclosed that Gana’s wife, Queen, had also died during one of the encounters.
6. Prominent Nollywood actor, Chris Ekejimbe, is dead.
Ekejimbe died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Saturday morning after battling with acute malaria and typhoid fever for more than two months.
7. Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, Magnus Abe has denied resigning from the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Abe in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Parry Saroh Benson on Saturday described the report of his alleged resignation from the APC as unfounded.
8. President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the communal clashes that have left over 55 persons dead in Kasuwan, Kaduna State.
Buhari said the frequent resort to bloodshed by Nigerians over misunderstandings that can’t be resolved peacefully was worrisome.
9. A former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bisi Akande, has accused the military of lopsided political structure on Nigeria.
The former Governor of Osun State berated successive military governments that ruled Nigeria for 29 years since independence for creating, “states and local governments by fiat for selfish reasons rather than through any scientific political reasoning.”
10. Wife of the President, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has called on Nigerians to speak well of their country.
Aisha said as prayers heal the land so does bad utterances bring hardship.
