1. The driver and househelp of Mrs Olufunke Olakunrin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti, has recounted how she was murdered.
The driver, Tayo Ogundare, recalled that some masked men came out from the bush to attack their vehicle, adding that they shot at the vehicle just after the Ore toll gate.
2. Afenifere leader, Reuben Fasoranti, has said he never knew Friday would be the last day that he would see his daughter, Funke Olakunrin, who was shot dead along Benin-Ore highway.
Fasoranti, while receiving dignitaries at his Akure residence, called on the federal government to check the high rate of crime in the country.
3. The Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has warned that the region may go offensive over the killing of Funke Olakunrin, daughter of the leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
Adams, who is the leader of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), described Olakunrin’s killing by suspected herdsmen in Ondo State as one too many “by Fulanis who are invading the South West in their numbers and perpetrating atrocities”.
4. The Federal Controller of Works in Anambra State, Mr. Adeyemo Ajani, on Saturday said the second Niger Bridge may be redesigned to prevent suicide attempts.
Ajani, who stated this when the Abuja branch of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) inspected the on-going works at the Ogbaru site of the project, near Onitsha, said he would take up the NSE recommendation with the appropriate authorities.’
5. The Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property has sealed off suspicious assets and property belonging to Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, located in Warri, Asaba in Delta State, and Lagos State.
The Presidential Panel carried out the action on the premise of last week’s ruling of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja which ordered an interim forfeiture of property belonging to Nwaoboshi, who represents Delta North senatorial district.
6. The Police Command in Enugu State, on Saturday, debunked a social media rumour of a bomb explosion in Enugu State.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, said that the video in circulation in some sections of social media had been confirmed to be “false’’ and “an attempt to instill fear in the minds of the public’’.

Over 700 witnesses have been enlisted to appear before the Kano State Governorship Election Tribunal presided over by Justice Halima Shamnaki, to testify for and against APC and PDP as regards the March 2019 governorship election won by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Counsel to Governor Ganduje, the second respondent, Barrister Offiong Offiong (SAN), Saturday at a pre-hearing session held at Miller road High court complex, informed the tribunal that 203 witnesses have been assembled to testify before the tribunal in support of the election won by the incumbent governor.
8. The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Saturday said that five persons died while 14 others sustained various degrees of injuries in an accident involving two vehicles at Odeda town, along Abeokuta-Ibadan Expressway.
Mr Clement Oladele, the Ogun Sector Commandant of FRSC, confirmed that the accident happened at about 9.20p.m on Friday.
Oladele explained that a Mazda bus with registration number MUS 367 XU conveying passengers from Ibadan to Abeokuta lost control due to dangerous driving and had a collision with a truck.

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has stated that Nigeria was already on fire and awaiting disintegration.
The organisation was reacting to an earlier statement by the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) which urged those opposed to the setting up of Fulani herdsmen settlements, popularly called Ruga, across the country, to drop their opposition and allow the policy take off.
10. The Super Eagles of Nigeria will this night battle the Algeria for a place in the final stage of the ongoing African Cup of Nation in Egypt.
The match would kick off by 8pm at the Cairo International Stadium.
