1. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has withdrawn its threat to frustrate the conduct of the November 18 governorship election in Anambra State.

The decision was reached after a meeting organised by a non-governmental organisation, the Ala-Igbo International Foundation with the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Friday.

2. The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye on Friday visited President Muhammadu Buhari in London.

Adeboye during the visit prayed for the ailing president for quick recovery.

3. The Academic Staff Union of Universities has said it will not call its strike off until its demands to the government are met.

President of ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, noted that members of the union would not return to the class if the demands it had itemised to the government last November were not implemented.

3. Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has denied nursing presidential ambition ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Dangote said he will not be running for Nigeria’s presidency in 2019 general elections or in the near future, noting that there’s quite a lot he can do from the business side.

4. The Nigerian Sex Workers’ Association has said the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, will lead to an increase in the number of female prostitutes.

The national coordinator of the association, Amaka Enemo, on Friday noted that even without the strike, many female students had been engaging in ‘bed-to-wealth-business’.

5. Laolu Akande, the spokesman for the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, has refuted reports claiming that President Muhammadu Buhari is teleguiding his principal.

Akande said a widely circulated report, alleging that a cabal was holding Osinbajo back from exercising presidential powers, was “curious”.

6. The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, has vowed not to vacate the Middle Belt region despite the recent quit notice issue on its members in Benue State.

The General Secretary of the organisation, Alhaji Baba Ngelzarma, said that the quit notice was part of the attempts by miscreants and troublemakers to sow tension and confusion with the sole aim of looting.

7. The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has warned the Federal Government over its categorisation of hate speech as an act of terrorism.

The governor accused the All Progressives Congress of being the number one promoter and beneficiary of hate speeches in the country.

8. The Senate, Friday, said it was too busy to reply the recent outburst by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that its members are unarmed robbers.

It, however, asked the former President to return his Presidential Library to the Federal Government, noting that it was built with public fund.

9. The Kwara State Government has confirmed case of Lassa fever in the state.

The State Commissioner of Health, Sulaiman Alege, who made this disclosure, stated that the patient was at Babanla Primary Health Care Centre in Ifelodun Local Government Area when his sample was taken.

10. A former governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba has warned that the All Progressives Congress may lose power to the opposition in 2019.

According to him, with the judgment given by the Supreme Court, APC now have a vibrant and serious opposition and could be ousted if they don’t put its house in order.
