1. The Supreme Court, on Friday, sacked Hon. Sunday Aghedo of the All Progressive Congress, APC, from the Edo State House of Assembly.
Aghedo, who represented Ovia South West constituency, was ordered by the apex court to within 90 days, refund all salaries and allowances he collected from the Edo State House of Assembly from May 2015, till date.
2. One of the aspirants for the National Chairmanship position of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George, has withdrawn from the race.
George, who is among the nine contenders jostling for the position, claimed he withdrew because the South West is already cheated with the entrants of aspirants from the South-South.
3. A Nigerian Senator representing Ekiti State, Sylvester Ayodele Arise, who was kidnapped last Sunday, has been freed by his abductors.
He was released on Friday at an undisclosed location in Ijumu local government area of Kogi State and left to find his way.
4. The spokesperson of the Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Auwal Jallah and his driver Shamsudden Mohammed have died in a car crash.
Both men were involved in a fatal motor accident along Azare/Gamawa road on Friday.
5. The Federal, States and Local Government in the month of October shared N532.7 billion which shows a decline of N25.3 billion when compared to what they shared in September.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Mahmoud Isa-Dutse said this on Thursday in Abuja while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the monthly Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
6. President Muhammad Buhari has expressed shock that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is determined to return to power in 2019 despite the alleged atrocities they committed while in power.
According to Buhari, the atrocities committed by the PDP against the country were still fresh in the mind, and coming to think of it that they were dreaming to stage a comeback was highly surprising.
7. Nigeria’s immediate past President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has expressed his willingness to work with with party leaders that would emerge at Saturday’s elective convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a goodwill message issued Friday by his media adviser, Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, the former President said the convention would reposition the party to “regains its pride of place in the affairs of the nation.”
8. Fulani militias yesterday allegedly attacked Garin village in Adamawa State and burnt down houses.
Several persons were injured in the attack.
9. Minister of Finance, Kemili Adeosun has stated that she would not be intimidated by reactions trailing the suspension of Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Mounir Gwarzo.
In a statement signed by her spokesman, Oluyinka Akntunde, Adeosun insisted that the decision to suspend Gwarzo was in order.
10. The much-awaited national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would hold today at the Eagles Square, Abuja.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has warned that it would not tolerate any act that would cause trouble at during the convention.
