1. The House of Representatives has ordered the probe of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, under the leadership of Hameed Ali.

The House said there was need to investigate the failure of the Nigerian Customs Service to auction confiscated goods, saying that instead of auctioning the seized items worth billions of naira, the service left them to degrade.

2. Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has appeared in a new video released on Friday asking his members to persist in their attacks on the government until they take over most countries in Africa and enthrone Sharia particularly in Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Niger, Nigeria and Mali.

Shekau maintained that his men will not back down.

3. The Benue State Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, has faulted the state governor, Samuel Ortom for ‘banishing’ Fulani Herdsmen from the state.

Makama said ordering the herders to vacate the state within 72 hours was not in order, saying that Nigeria belonged to everyone.

4. A social commentator, Dr Peregrino Brimah, has revealed that a cabal in the presidency forced President Muhammadu Buhari back from his medical vacation in London to sign away Nigeria into their coffers.

According to him, Buhari had to return even when the doctors have not fully declared him fit to return to work.

5. Vice-President ,Yemi Osinbajo, has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari believes that the people of the Niger Delta, deserve a fair deal.

According to him, the present government was now advocating a New Vision for the oil-rich people.

6. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corportation (NNPC), has vowed to recover 130million litres of petrol that went missing from two downstream oil operators over operational infraction.

NNPC Chief Operating Officer, Downstream, Mr Henry Ikem-Obih, said that the 130million litres would be recovered from two indigenous operators, MRS Limited and Capital Oil & Gas Limited.

7. An Abuja Federal High Court has reversed its order revoking the oil block, OPL 245, from Shell Nigeria Limited and Eni.

Justice Tsoho reversed his order and it also refused the application of Malabu oil and gas to join in the matter.

8. Troops have arrested a 45-year-old suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Makinta Ibrahim, said to be the supplier of petrol and other items to the insurgents at Bay emeritus village in Yobe State.

The troops also arrested another suspected Boko Haram terrorist whose name, age and origin could not be ascertained for now as he pretended to be deaf and dumb.

9. The Christian Association of Nigeria has said the organisation will not investigate ongoing allegations of sexual misconduct being made by Ms. Stephanie Otobo against Apostle Johnson Suleman, founder of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide.

The organisation said it was only concerned with denominational issues and not personal ones, under which Suleman’s case falls.

10. Former governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime has confirmed dumping the Peoples Democratic Party.

Chime said, however, that he had yet to join another political party, contrary to speculations that he had defected to the APC.
