1. No fewer than 10 persons were on Sunday killed with several persons injured in a clash that broke out between cult groups in Otukpo, Benue State.
According to the Otukpo LG boss, Hon. George Alli, normalcy had since been restored to Otukpo while 15 persons have been arrested in connection with the crime.
2. The Department of State Services (DSS) on Sunday recalled half of its operatives officially allocated to Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
Consequently, security operatives attached to the two presiding officers of the National Assembly were directed to report to the DSS headquarters “with immediate effect”.
3. Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernet Rohr, has named his final 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup.
Rohr had dropped Ola Aina and Mikel Agu from the players that traveled to London to play the Three Lions on Saturday after picking Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Francis Uzoho, Abdullahi Shehu, Elderson Echiejile, Leon Balogun, William Ekong, Chidozie Awaziem, Tyronne Ebuehi. Kenneth Omeruo, Bryan Idowu, Wilfred Ndidi, Mikel John Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, Oghenekaro Etebo, Joel Obi, John Ogu, Odion Ighalo, Simeon Nwankwo, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and Ahmed Musa as his final sqaud.
4. The Nigeria Police have invited President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, for questioning.
Saraki is to be grilled over his alleged involvement in the Offa bank robbery incident in Kwara State, according to Force public relations officer, Jimoh Moshood.
5. Suspected Fulani herdsmen on Saturday killed seven persons and injured six others in Kwande Local Government Council of Benue.
It was gathered that the attackers also abducted a woman during the incident on Saturday night at Tseadough village.
6. The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, on Sunday gave a 21-day ultimatum to employers in the Nigerian oil and gas sector to address workers’ welfare or witness a total shutdown.
NUPENG president, Williams Akporeha, claimed that over 500 union members had not been paid after working for some international oil companies.
7. The founder of the Oodua People’s Congress, Dr. Frederick Fasehun, has called on president Muhammadu Buhari to remove top military officers in charge of the fight against Boko Haram.
Fasehun urged Buhari to mandate the military commanders to end Boko Haram insurgency within six months, stressing that insurgency could be stopped soon but the military were using it for commercial benefits.
8. Two persons have been confirmed dead in an auto crash involving a Volkswagen Golf car on Kano-Birninkudu road, Birninkudu in Birninkudu Local Government Area of Jigawa .
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, claimed the life of two, leaving five others with severe injuries.
9. Obinna Okadigbo, son of former Senate President, Chuba Okadigbo is dead. Okadigbo died in the United States of America where he was residing, reportedly from a cold-related ailment.
Former media aide to Okadigbo, Dr James Okoroma, confirmed the death.
10. Gospel singer, Chris Morgan, at the weekend escaped assassination after he was attacked by gunmen along Airport road in Abuja.
The singer barely escaped with his life after the attackers stabbed him and tried to slit his throat.
