Good morning! Here are 10 things you need to know this morning:

1. Gunmen believed to be Boko Haram terrorists have attacked Babangida council headquarters in Yobe state on Sunday, torching the Divisional Police Station, secretariat complex, telecom masts and several other houses and buildings. Report however claimed no one was killed in the attack.

2. Osun State governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has promised that he will pay worker’s salaries before or by the end of the month. The governor gave the assurance in a statement he issued in Osogbo on Sunday through his media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon.

3. President Muhammadu Buhari has started living up to his promises, as he has already ordered the immediate release of $21 million to the Multi-National Joint Task Force’s (MNJTF). The money is to be released within one week in order to step up the campaign against Boko Haram. The fund will be released from the $100 million the government pledged to support the Force.

4. The wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, on Saturday tasked politicians who will be working with President Muhammadu Buhari and all his political associates to help him actualize his goals. She said those around her husband must know that it took him 12 years to get to the position, and must not spoil things for him.

5. Senators of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have said that the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu will not resign his position as wished by some APC Sentors, saying that they will resist any unconstitutional means to remove their member as a Deputy Senate President.

6. Report says in order to mend the already damaged relationship between him and some of his colleagues who are aggrieved over his emergence and all the processes involved, Senate President, Bukola Saraki has started reaching out to the All Peoples Congress leadership and colleagues for a peaceful settlement.

7. President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday said Africa was under siege considering all the challenges it faces at the moment. He made the submission in a speech at the opening session of the 25th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, holding in Johannesburg, South Africa.

8. A former aide to immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan, Prof. Rufai Alkali, has stated that the major obstacles before President Muhammadu Buhari was the APC and its leadership. He said in a statement that the leadership of the party would frustrate him due to over-ambition.

9. With the ongoing criticism over his inability to pay Osun State workers, a former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has advised Governor Rauf Aregbesola to resign. He gave the advise while speaking with journalist in Osogbo, the state capital.

10. Coach of the Super Falcon, Edwin Okon, has declared ahead of their last group match against the United States that they are now looking up to picking up all three points in order to qualify for the next round of the tournament, stating that their defeat against Australia has now been put behind them.
