1. Former vice-president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, yesterday arrived Minna, the Niger State capital, to meet with former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida.
Atiku was welcomed at the Minna International Airport by the Niger state Deputy Governor, Ahmed Ketso and the State PDP Chairman, Barrister Tanko Beji, among other dignitaries.
2. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman in Plateau State, Damishi Sango has been reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen
Report says the PDP chairman’s son, driver, a prominent chieftain of the PDP in Plateau State were also kidnapped along Jere Road in Kaduna State around 2pm on their way to Abuja for the party’s National Convention scheduled for Saturday.
3. Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja Division, has voluntarily resigned from service.
The High court judge, who was one of the eight judges whose houses were raided by the Department of State Services (DSS) for alleged corrupt practices and money laundering, tendered his resignation letter to the National Judicial Council late in the evening of Wednesday after he had presided over several cases, four of which were criminal matters.
4. The Police have confirmed the threat to attack the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and six other states in the country by members of the Boko Haram sect.
Following the warning, the Inspector General of Police directed Commissioners of Police, Assistant Inspectors General of Police and personnel in the states to be on red-alert alert.
6. Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, on Thursday adopted President Muhammadu Buhari as their sole candidate for the 2019 presidential election.
The APC leaders, who made this disclosure on Thursday, as President Buhari wrapped up his two-day state visit to Kano, declared that President Buhari needed to complete what he had started.
7. Air vice marshal, Austine Jekenu, commandant, Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), has disclosed that 403 military personnel would retire from the armed forces next week.
According to him, the retiring soldiers were drawn from the Army, the Air Force and the Navy.

The former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President accused President of Buhari of “sleeping on the job”, urging him to take it more “seriously”.
9. The House of Representatives has reacted to the ongoing calls across the nation for the scraping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.
The lawmakers agreed to investigate the allegations of “corruption and brutality” of citizens levelled against the Nigeria Police, particularly the SARS.
10. Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, yesterday won the 2017 Ballon d’Or prize.
The 32-year-old was named the winner of France Football’s prestigious award at a ceremony in Paris on Thursday, which drew level with Lionel Messi on five awards.
