1. Several persons have been reportedly killed in two days in Logo local government area of Benue State by suspected herdsmen.

It was gathered that the attackers, who have taken over large expanse of forests in Logo, usually mounted road blocks in the area before killing their unsuspecting victims, including two brothers and three other persons.

2. The 2018 FIFA World Cup has kicked off in Russia with the host nation walloping Saudi Arabia 5 – 0. Goals from Yuri Gazinskiy, Denis Cheryshev, Artem Dzyuba, Aleksandr Golovin, Denis Cheryshev separated both teams.

3. Olusegun Mimiko, former governor of Ondo State has collected the membership card of the Labour Party (LP) in Ondo state. He was accompanied to the party’s secretariat by his teeming supporters to obtain his membership card.

4. Shehu Sani, Senator representing Kaduna Central, on Thursday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to apologize to the family of late President Musa Yar’Adua.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain also urged Buhari to apologize to the families of late activists, Ken Saror Wiwa, Beko Kuti and Chima Ubani.

5. Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, has stressed that the immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan still has a lot to offer Nigeria. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain insisted that the former President possessed potentials that will move Nigeria forward.

6. President General of Mdzough U Tiv, Edward Ujege, has described the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, as an ‘illiterate’ over his recent call for the suspension of the Anti-Open Grazing Law.

Ujege described Ali-Mansur as unfit to occupy the position of a Minister.

7. Muslim faithful in the country have been called upon to continue to be prayerful and live together with others in peace, tolerance and service to humanity.

This was part of the Eid-el-Fitr message to Muslims in the country by prominent Nigerians, including President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Bukola Sarakai, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and several others.

8. A 30-year-old father of five, Nura Aliyu, has been arrested by Katsina police command for allegedly trafficking drugs suspected to be codeine syrup.

Aliyu was apprehended along Senator Abba Ali road by Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina.

9. Falmata Abubakar, mother of the Boko Haram kingpin, Abubakar Shekau, on Thursday revealed that she had no idea where her son was or his situation..

Fatima told Hausa Service of the Voice of America, VOA, that she would love to see her terrorist son so she could put some senses into his head.

10. An anti-corruption crusader, Bishop Osadolor Ochei, Thursday, asked a Federal High Court in Abuja for an order of mandamus compelling the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to commence criminal proceedings against former Edo State governor and National Chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole over alleged corruption.

He filed an ex-parte motion marked FHC/ABJ/CS/628/2018 praying the court to order EFCC to put Oshiomole on trial followed the Bishop’s petition to the EFCC, dated October 28, 2016 ‎against the former governor of Edo state, from November 2008 to November 11, 2016.
