1. The Benue State House of Assembly has successfully passed the bill prohibiting Open Rearing and Grazing of cattle into law.

According to the bill, which is waiting for the governor’s assent, anyone found violating the law would be sentenced to five years imprisonment and as well pay a fine of N1m.

2. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has assured that President Muhammadu Buhari is working round the clock to revive the nation’s ailing economy.

He said the current administration is moving at a slow pace because it has been saddled with the responsibility of patching up a horrible situation that it did not create.

3. There are reports that three medical doctors have reportedly arrived Nigeria on Thursday, to attend to President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso Rock.

The report says the doctors are all British and Caucasian – two males and one female and are expected to threat the president, who has been indoor for weeks now.

4. Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has faulted the claim by the Nigerian Air Force that he was injured in a recent air strike.

Shekau in a new video, said he was alive and healthy, contrary to the claim by the Nigerian troops.

5. The dreaded Ebola disease may hit some countries again, the World Health Organization, has warned.

WHO Chief, Margaret Chan said Scientists do not yet know exactly where in nature the Ebola virus hides between outbreaks, but nearly all experts agree that another outbreak is inevitable.

6. The Nigerian currency – naira on Thursday appreciated marginally against the dollar at the parallel market at N390 to the dollar.

The pound sterling and Euro exchanged at N495 and N420, respectively at the segment, while at the Bureau De Change (BDC) the local currency was sold at N362 to the dollar, while the pound sterling and Euro closed at N495 and N420, respectively.

7. The Federal Government has closed its case of false asset declaration and other related charges against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

The closure was made on Thursday after its fourth prosecution witness testified before the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja.

8. Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Thursday arrived Enugu State for the first time since his release from detention. Kanu upon his arrival in the coal city, moved straight to the Biafra cenotaph located at Ngwo and passionately kissed feet of Biafran fallen heroes at the Biafra Cenotaph.

9. Presdient Muhammadu Buhari has been advised to disclose his health status.

The Nigerian Medical Association, on Thursday, said Buhari’s disclosure of his health status would douse tension and rumours about his well-being.

10. The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has accused the Federal Government of abandoning its responsibilities to the people of the state.

According to Wike, his government was compelled to make such an investment in federal courts because the Federal Government had left them to rot away.
