1. Suspended House of Representatives member, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has been expelled by the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chapter in Bebeji local government area of Kano State.
The local government chapter of the ruling party explained that the former House of Representatives Chairman on Appropriation was expelled due to anti-party activities.
2. Three bills, which are part of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), Thursday passed for second reading at the House of Representatives.
The bills were considered separately and passed via a call for voice vote by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.
3. The Nigerian Senate, on Thursday, adjourned plenary for 3 weeks, to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the 8th Assembly and Eid-El-Fitri festival.
Both chambers of the 8th National Assembly would join Muslim faithful across the world to mark this year’s feast of Eid-El-Fitri on 25th and 26th June 2017.
4. Gunmen have reportedly abducted former chief press secretary to a onetime Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, David Ehimoni.
Mr Ehimoni was whisked away by the gunmen on his way to Ikare in Ondo State to pick up his kids who are on their mid-term break.
5. Strong indications emerged on Thursday that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC would reopen investigation into allegations of corruption against the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Justice Danladi Usman.
According to reports, the anti-graft agency in Abuja said the commission had started screening all outstanding petitions against the CCT Chairman.
6. Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said Acting President Yemi Osinbajo speaks with President Muhammadu Buhari over the phone every day.
According to Mohammed, Buhari has “so much trust” for Osinbajo and also enjoys his maximum loyalty and confidence.
7. The Nigerian government has said that the reason the leader of the Islamic Movement In Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, is still in protective custody is due to the inability of the federal government to build a house for him.
According to the Minister of Information and Culture, the court ruled that El-Zakzaky be released after his house has been rebuilt.

The lawmaker in a tweet on Thursday evening debunked the news and said “hired hacks” were behind the rumours.
9. The Indigenous People of Biafra on Thursday slammed Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for holding a South-East peace and conflict resolution meeting without involving its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said those who attended the meeting had no major stake in the conflict intended to be resolved.
10. The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that it is targeting an increase in the number of taxpayers in the next two years from the current 14 million to 17 million.
The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, said the Federal Government was planning to achieve the objective by recruiting 7,500 graduates as community tax liaison officers to raise the level of tax awareness in the country.
