A Malasian court on Thursday sentenced a 30-year-old female Nigerian student, Mary George Unazi, to death after she was arrested with 765.9 kg of metamphetamine at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, KLIA, four years ago.

Judge Datuk Ghazali Cha while delivering judgement said the prosecution has proven its case against the 30-year-old beyond any reasonable doubt.

Ghazali in his judgement said the 30-year-old student failed to prove that the bag containing the drug did not belong to her.

It was gathered that Unazi was on May 10, 2011 at about 3.pm found to have committed the offence at the KLIA baggage area.

Unazi was however arraigned in accordance with Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries a mandatory death penalty.
