Taiwo Ogunjobi, has urged Nigerian coaches to go for further trainings, so they can improve on their technical knowledge.

The erstwhile Secretary-General of the Nigerian Football Federation, lamented the lack of tactical depth among local coaches and how they fail to stand shoulder to shoulder with their international colleagues.

“Nigerian coaches need to improve on their technical brilliance. They all make the same errors at the big stage which require them not to relent on the training they get here,” he said.

“They should go abroad for more refresher courses which will help them compete favourably with their counterparts.

“All these foreign coaches that we cherish so much today took it upon themselves to refresh themselves with modern day technology to help them improve on their work.”

Chief Ogunjobi also insisted that coaches and not players, were responsible for the recent unimpressive displays by the Flying Eagles and the Super Falcons at the World Cup.
