Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari has maintained that Muhammadu Buhari’s emergence as president of the country brought glimmer of hope to the north and anticipation of the return of socio-economic prosperity.
Masari claimed that northern Nigeria would have been in misery had former President, Goodluck Jonathan, won the 2015 presidential election.
Speaking at the 33rd annual symposium in memory of late Malam Aminu Kano held at the Centre for Democratic Research and Training, AKCDRT, Mambayya House, Kano, he said the situation the north found itself was dangerous.
The governor was alluding to the monster of insurgency that rendered the lives of the people of northern Nigeria worthless.
Masari further called on teachers at primary and secondary levels as well as lecturers of various institutions to add leadership training to their curriculum.
