The Commandant General, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu‎, has disclosed that efforts at safeguarding pipelines against vandals are yielding positive result.

He stated this in Kaduna while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after attending the Wedding fatiha of the Kaduna State commandant of the corps, Alhaji Modu Bunu.

Represented by ACG Nnamdi Nwinyi Zonal Commander, Zone ‘B’ Kaduna, the Commandant General reiterated, “The activities of vandals have caused the country major set back but I can tell you that our efforts and those of other security agencies at checkmating their activities are yielding positive result.

“We are equally not going to leave anything to chance until there are no more vandals in this country; we have devised more proactive measures to handle them. Those arrested in connection to one form of vandalism or the other are being prosecuted according to the law.

“My advice to the vandals is for them to seek for another means of earning a genuine source of livelihood and desist from activities whose effect is capable of affecting millions of people negatively,” he said.

He called on well meaning individuals in the country to support the government and security ‎agencies in their efforts to proactively tackle activities of criminals.
