“When women are given opportunities to showcase their talents, there will be progress, stability, empowerment and poverty level will reduce,’’ the statement quoted Bello as saying.
In the statement, she urged women to be patient, observing that with cooperation; more women would be given opportunities and positions in governance in the near future.
The governor’s wife also observed in the statement that Lagos State had the highest number of women political appointees and civil servants in the country.
“No wonder Lagos is working because of the number of women who are contributing their quota to the development of the state. Niger also will get there in the near future,’’ the statement quoted her as saying. (NAN)
