Vice captain of the Zambia national team, Ziyo Tembo, has expressed his confidence that they can defeat Nigeria in Uyo, when both teams clash this Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
The Chipolopolo need at least a draw to keep their chances of qualifying for the World Cup 2018 in Russia alive, while Nigeria need a win to seal their passage to the tournament as group leaders with one game to spare.
Tembo, who was a part of the team that lost 1-2 to Nigeria in Ndola in the reverse tie, admits while the Nigerian side have quality players, they are no different from the team Zambia have faced in the past.
“There’s nothing special about the Nigeria game, it’s a game like any other we have played before. Yes they have a good side and have quality players and we can’t take that away from them, but they are beatable,” he said.
Tembo and his team-mates are expected to arrive Nigeria on Thursday.
