Gernot Rohr, the Super Eagles Head Coach, has vowed to win Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo of Zambia for sick goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme.

Rohr said the Eagles were driven to win for Ikeme, who was outstanding when both teams first met in Ndola a year ago, but was now bedridden after he was diagnosed with acute leukemia.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game, Rohr said, “The Eagles want to win again for Carl. He’s suffering, that’s not good.

“We want to give him the chance to be in Russia.

“They know us, so we have to change a few things, be more dangerous so as to surprise them.

“They have changed a lot with young players from their U20s, they are a different team from the one we beat in Ndola.

“They have to win to stand any chance, while a draw could even be enough for us, but we want to win this game.”
