Nigeria vs Uganda: How NFF president, Pinnick reacted to Super Eagles’ 0-0 draw

Amaju Pinnick, the president of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has spoken up on Super Eagles’ 0-0 draw with Uganda in an international friendly game played on Tuesday evening at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr fielded a strong side, with Alex Iwobi, Ahmed Musa and Oghenekaro Etebo all starting against the Cranes.

However, they failed to find the net, in what was generally a scrappy match.

Reacting, Pinnick pointed out that the visitors are one of the rising forces of African football, adding that they defeated Nigeria the last time both teams clashed in a friendly match on March 25, 2015.

”They showed strength in the game, mental capacity, good football artistry, so we are very proud of what we saw yesterday,” Pinnick told Channels Television.

”The last time Uganda came to Nigeria they defeated us, this is one of the strongest teams in Africa, I ‘m telling you.

”This is a team that defeated Egypt, they were on the verge of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, it’s a reborn Cranes of Uganda.

”It’s not a competitive game, we need to understand friendly games are meant to look at the strength and weakness of your players, especially the new players.

”For me they did very well, I am very convinced and happy about it.”

Nigeria will tackle Seychelles in March next year in their last AFCON qualifying fixture
