Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze has said that Gernot Rohr’s men are battle ready to tackle South Africa in tonight’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final clash.
Chukwueze pointed out that the Super Eagles will try harder to beat the Bafana Bafana at the Cairo International Stadium.
Nigeria head to the game after defeating AFCON holders Cameroon 3-2, while South Africa dumped the host nation, Egypt out of the competition.
“It is a battle which we know we are up to the task,” Chukwueze told SportingLife.
“We might have lost to Madagascar but it was a wakeup call for us.
“We tried our best against Cameroon and it is our resolve to even try harder against South Africa.”
The kick-off time for the match is 8pm.
