Former Super Eagles striker, Osaze Peter Odemwingie has reacted to the victory of Nigeria over South Africa in the AFCON match played on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana 2-1 on Wednesday to progress to the Semi final of the African Cup of Nations holding in Egypt.
Prior to the game, Osaze had passed a strong message to South Africans, reminding them what happened the last time both teams met at the African Cup of Nations of which he (Osaze) was part of Nigerian side.
A South African by name Zayne Nabbi, had gibed the Super Eagles in a tweet following Bafana Bafana shock win over host nation Egypt.
And in response, Ozaze, “Alright alright. The last time Nigeria played South Africa in afcon it was 4-1 and I scored two in two mins and it was also in North Africa and as they say history often repeats itself. Congrats to you guys though.”
Reacting to yesterday’s victory, Osaze tweeted, “Yes!!!!! Is a goooooal! Love a defender scoring a winner and a late one even better ! FT. Nigeria 2-1 South Africa 🇿🇦 #AFCON2019.”
