It has emerged that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), borrowed match balls for the Super Eagles’ 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on Saturday.
This was revealed by BBC correspondent, Oluwashina Okeleji, via his Twitter account.
He wrote: “The Nigeria FA couldn’t provide balls in Uyo today. They had to ‘borrow’ from #SouthAfrica.”
Nigeria lost the game 2-0 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Two second half goals courtesy of Tokelo Rantie and Percy Tau, saw the South Africans claim a famous away victory.
Libya top Group E with three points, following their 5-1 win over Seychelles. Baxter’s men are in second place on goals difference, while Nigeria is third with no points.
