Nigeria vs Serbia: Mikel Obi, Iheanacho out of friendly as injuries mount for Super Eagles

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, could name a much-changed side against Serbia in an international friendly on Tuesday night.

Rohr’s squad has been hit with injuries and withdrawals ahead of the game in London.

Leicester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho, has been ruled out with a fractured right hand.

Iheanacho started in the 1-0 win over Poland last Friday and was expected to play some part against Serbia.

Las Pamas of Spain midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo, is still sweating to be fit for the match. Etebo did not train with the rest of his team-mates, even though he flew in from Spain to team up with the squad.

Central defender Leon Balogun also had a ‘slight knock’ against Poland before he was subbed off, while Shehu was replaced over fears of a hamstring injury.

The Eagles will again be without skipper John Obi Mikel, who has not been able to sort out his work permit issues.
