Nigerian football lovers are angry with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), for providing a streaming site for the Super Eagles vs Senegal friendly match, that did not work.
Former media officer of the Eagles, Colin Udoh, tweeted the information before the game.
He wrote: “Here’s the link to stream Nigeria v Senegal. But it costs N500 ($2.99) and you have to input card detailshttps://urlivestream-prod.appspot-preview.com/ #NGASEN”
After a number of enthusiastic supporters paid N500 and did not get live images from The Hive Stadium in London, they began to complain, prompting Udoh to apologize.
“This stream appears to be a scam. Just rolling tvc of a Nollywood movie over and over again.
“If you haven’t paid for that live streaming link for Nigeria v Senegal, please don’t. Game not on #NGASEN
“I have to apologise for directing you folks to that site. Was given the URL by NFF match organiser. Will take it up wth him post game.”
That did not stop a lot of fans from venting.
Andrew Randa @RandaAndrew: I expect an apology from the @thenff and a full refund. This is FRAUD.
Solace Chukwu @TheOddSolace: Actually mad at myself for paying that 500, especially with earlier #NPFL experience. Congratulations, @thenff, for being party to fraud.
IBN ADEOYE @agaoa: Problem is that service is not even being delivered.
Steve Dede @DizSteve: After paying, I’m only watching Nolloywood movie adverts
Solace Chukwu @TheOddSolace: If you’re seeing this game on urlivestream, you obviously paid more than the 500 demanded. This amounts to fraud.
