Iceland coach, Heimir Hallgrimsson, has praised his Nigerian counterpart, Gernot Rohr, for the work he has done with the former African champions.
Hallgrimsson’s men take on the Super Eagles in their next fixture on Friday, following their 1-1 draw with Argentina.
“It’s a whole another opponent, that has a different playing style. They have a powerful and a strong team with players that can cover a lot of distance.
“It’s a really organised team, which the coach of Nigeria, [Gernot] Rohr, deserves credit for,” he said shortly after their training earlier on Tuesday.
Hallgrimsson also said pressure is on Nigeria to win, following their opening day loss to Croatia. But he made it clear that they want to win on Friday.
“It took a lot of energy to get this point, but it was worth it. To have one point today is very important.
“Now, we go to a game that Nigeria preferably needs to win. I think we are, well, at least in a better situation today than they are,” he added.
