Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has confirmed that he will drop five players from his 2018 World Cup squad, after Monday’s friendly match against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Port Harcourt.

The Nigerian team has been in camp in Uyo for several days.

Rohr named 30 players in his provisional squad for the tournament, but will make the first cut before they travel to London.

After the friendly against England on June 2, the German will drop two more players and release his final 23-man squad.

“Only 25 players will travel to England. The final list will be after the England match.

““When the final 23 is picked, we will work on set pieces. We have not had enough time so far,” Rohr told the media on Friday.
