Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr is considering dropping the duo of Onazi Ogenyi and Joel Obi from the squad that will face the Czech Republic in an international friendly on Wednesday.
Rohr has Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, fit again and is keen to give him playing time ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
Ndidi was meant to play some part against in the Eagles’ last friendly game against England on Saturday, but the German coach chose not to introduce him, despite asking him to warm up alongside other substitutes.
The 21-year-old was involved in full training on Monday in their Austria camp and is expected to start against the Czechs in Vienna.
His return to fitness means he could line up in midfield alongside captain John Obi Mikel, leaving Rohr with the option of dropping one of Ogenyi Onazi or Joel Obi, after their average performance against England.
As a matter of fact, the duo of Onazi and Obi could be dropped entirely from the squad for the friendly game, as Rohr was very impressed with the performance of Oghenekaro Etebo, following his introduction against the Three Lions.
