Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane, has agreed with the decision to award Croatia a penalty, in their 2-0 win over Nigeria last Saturday.
William Troost-Ekong was adjuged to have pulled Mario Mandzukic’s shirt inside the box and the referee pointed to the spot.
Luka Modric stepped up and made it 2-0 from 12 yards, after Oghenekaro Etebo’s own goal had given them the lead in the first half.
Keane, who is working for ITV as a pundit, hailed the decision and called Ekong “lazy” and “a cheat”.
“Croatia have to up their game against a stronger side like Argentina. I’m glad Troost-Ekong got punished. Cheating, lazy defending,” Keane said.
