Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has admitted that Leon Balogun is struggling to be fit, for the 2018 World Cup opener against Croatia in Kaliningrad.
Balogun picked up a knock in training two days back.
The Brighton & Hove defender missed yesterday’s training session, as he underwent a scan to determine the extent of damage suffered.
Speaking at his pre-match conference ahead of Saturday’s game, Rohr confirmed Leon remains doubtful. However, a decision will be made before the game kicks off.
The German however rated the 29-year-old’s chances of playing as 50-50.
Kenneth Omeruo is expected to replace Balogun, if he is eventually ruled out.
