Nigerians have reacted to Super Eagles’ disappointing loss to Croatia.
The team performed below par in their World Cup 2018 opening match on Saturday.
Some Nigerians on social media have expressed their opinion about the game plan and result.
They also blamed Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr for the defeat.
Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST:
@Shakesrampedi “After Nigeria losing to Croatia today, I deeply fear that the Super Eagles may exit the tournament at group stages sadly. I Iceland and Argentina will be hard to beat.”
@Collinsconel “Moses cost us the game. Iwobi played brilliantly, subbing him was a big mistake.
@Murhirwa “FIFA should allocate only 2 spots for Africa at the world cup. Together with England, they are a disgrace to football.”
@Surhsays “My advice to Gernot Rohr: Mikel is NOT an 8. Team to switch wing often stop focusing on Moses (right). Iwobi is the only creative player we have, he should play 8. Iheanacho is a better lone striker to Ighalo. Etebo should retain his place, a great player.”
@Coldhyena “Those boys lack creativity. Victor Moses is just there to dribble in and make crosses and he did that perfectly. To me he deserves Man of the Match.”
@Temiokomi “The blame rests FIRMLY on Rohr!
@Jydoski “Moses was dismal in this match. Mikel too. 3-5-2 that gave us victory against Argentina. I’m very disappointed and embarrassed.”
@Kaysalam120 “I have been saying this to my friends here. Rohr just didn’t play the boys to their full potentials. Everyone in the midfield and attack seem to be playing out of natural positions.”
@Soonquie “Thank you. I don’t know about us winning the World Cup but he sure went with a team decent enough to take us out of this group. Dude played Iwobi & Etebo to the team’s disadvantage.”
@T_riumphant “This is not what the psychic pig promised us.”
@Kossychukwu “Even God was looking down on Nigeria with Greg disappointment.”
