The Super Eagles will earn a guaranteed $37,500.00 per player (approximately N13.5 million in Nigerian currency) for beating Cameroon yesterday, according to Allnigeriasoccer.
Nigeria defeated the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the round of 16 of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations to book a place in the quarterfinals.
A breakdown of the amount shows that the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, will pay each player $12,500 as bonus for the victory.
Individuals such as Captain Hosea Okunbor had gifted the players with the sum of $20,000 per player, while Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu showered the players with $5,000 each.
Aside the $37,500 per player, the President of AITEO Group, NFF’s optimum partner, Benedict Peters weighed in with the sum of $75,000 for the entire team for the three goals scored, at $25,000 per goal as he promised before the match.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele were among spectators who watched the Super Eagles win against Cameroon at the Alexandria Stadium.
