Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has waved off speculations that he is going to be sacked, no matter how the team fares at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria take on Cameroon in the Round of 16 on Saturday, having lost 2-0 to Madagascar to finish second in Group B.
The team’s performances in Egypt, have left senior officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) unimpressed and they are reportedly considering firing the German.
But Rohr, addressing the media on Friday ahead of the game against the Indomitable Lions, insisted he is not bothered by such rumours and is focused on the job at hand.
“I’ve heard plenty rumours that regardless of how we perform, I’ll lose my job but I don’t pay attention to them.
“I hope to do well here and then after this tournament, I’ll address my future,” he said.
