Football-loving Nigerians used social media to shower accolades on Super Eagles B team that suffered a 3-2 defeat to Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid, on Tuesday in Uyo.
Nigeria scored top quality goals through Kelechi Nwakali and Usman Mohammed, but fell 3-2 to the visiting Europa League champions.
Atleti lifted the maiden GOtv Max Cup at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as Angel Correa, Fernando Torres and Borja Garces’ efforts sealed victory for Diego Simeone’s men.
But despite the loss, Nigerians were pleased with the performance of the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL, players and some foreign-based talents.
