There are early indications, that head coach of Argentina, Jorge Sampaoli, will drop Willy Caballero for their crunch game against Nigeria on Tuesday.
Caballero was at fault for the first goal, as they were thrashed 3-0 by Croatia on Thursday.
The Chelsea keeper generally had a game to forget, as his country suffered defeat that leaves their World Cup campaign hanging by a thread.
Now, Roy Nemer, a journalist who works with the Argentina national team, suggests that he will not feature against the Super Eagles, while Angel Di Maria will start.
“Rumors that this could be Argentina’s XI vs. Nigeria: Guzman; Mercado, Otamendi, Fazio, Rojo; Mascherano, Biglia, Banega; Messi, Di Maria and Agüero,” Nemer tweeted.
Argentina need to beat Nigeria to stand a chance of progressing, while Gernot Rohr’s men only need a draw.
