Super Eagles forward, Moses Simon, has said that Gernot Rohr’s men do not deserve to play in this year’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, final in Egypt.

The Levante winger stated this following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Algeria at the AFCON semi-final encounter on Sunday.

Algeria took the lead in the first half, thanks a William Troost-Ekong own goal.

The Super Eagles levelled in the second half, after a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) decision, with Odion Ighalo scoring the penalty.

With the match heading into extra time, Riyad Mahrez stepped up and spanked a free-kick past Daniel Akpeyi, to send his side into the final.

Moses, however, noted that the Super Eagles were disappointed, adding that Algeria captain, Riyad Mahrez was a smart and great player that decided and won the game for the North Africans.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Moses said: ”We are disappointed because I think we don’t deserve it.

“Mahrez is a smart player and a great player. He decided everything and they won.”

He added, ”We are professionals, we have to try to get rid of it and fight back”.

Nigeria will face Tunisia on Wednesday in the third-place fixture.
