Nigeria U-23 to face Brazil in friendly


Head coach of Nigeria’s U-23 team, Samson Siasia, has revealed that his team will take on their Brazilian counterparts, in an international friendly match next month.

The Dream Team VI are one of the African teams, that will represent the continent at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

“I am happy that my plans to put my team in a high level preparations for the 2016 Olympic Games has commenced,” Siasia told Goal.

“Despite the fact that we are still waiting for the go ahead order from the National Sports Commission to kick start our camping in Abuja, I am happy that we will play an international friendly match with the U23 national team of Brazil on March 24, 2016 tentatively.”

Siasia also stated that the venue for the game has not been decided yet, because the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is still looking at its options.

“Yes there is going to be an international friendly between the Dream Team VI and Brazil, but the actually date of the match in March and the venue will be decided next week,” he added.
