A report has surfaced online of millions of people fleeing their countries to Europe and Nigeria top the list of countries migrating to other countries such as Italy and Greece.
A chart released by International Organization for Migration shows that at the end of December 2016, a total number of 387,739 arrivals to Europe was recorded and Nigeria emerged with about 173 million.
The chart shows that Greece received more migrants from Syria (45%), Afghanistan (23%) and Iraq (15%) while Italy received a much greater variety of nationalities, from Nigeria (20%), Eritrea (11%), the Gambia (6%) and other countries.
DAILY POST learnt that while the number of migrants from Nigeria at cumulative arrivals ‘increases’, the United Kingdom, UK, has deported no fewer than 83 Nigerians.
Among those deported were residents whose documents had expired and prisoners whose terms of imprisonment were nearing completion.
