The Super Eagles will now face their neighbours Niger, in a friendly match scheduled for September 9 in Port Harcourt.

Nigeria were looking to take on one of Ghana or Togo, but failed to reach any agreement with both West African teams.

“The match against Niger is now confirmed for Port Harcourt after the AFCON qualifier in Tanzania,” a top NFF official informed AfricanFootball.com.

“The other proposals to other neigbouring countries like Ghana and Togo did not fly”, he said.

It has, however, not been determined if the Team A or Team B will play the game, especially with the home-based Eagles preparing for a CHAN qualifier against Burkina in October.
