Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup opponent, Iceland blow 2 goals lead in first-half against Ghana

One of Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup Group D opponent, Iceland were forced to a 2-2 draw by the Black Stars of Ghana in their pre-World Cup friendly played on Thursday night in Reykjavik.

Heimir Hallgrímsson’s men who will be making their first appearance at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia opened scoring through defender, Kari Arnason in the sixth minute.

Alfred Finnbogason doubled the lead for the host just five minute before the break.

The Black Stars, without most of their big stars, rallied back in the second half, and reduced the deficit in the 66th minute through Kasim Nuhu.

Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey got the equaliser three minutes from time.

Iceland will open their 2018 World Cup campaign against Argentina on June 16 and then face Nigeria four days later at the Volgograd Arena.
