The Super Eagles have now risen three spots from 66th, despite getting knocked out in the preliminary rounds of the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
On the African continent, Cote d’Ivoire (28) remains the highest-ranked team. Cape Verde Islands (33), Algeria (36), Ghana (41), Senegal (45), Tunisia (48) and Congo (54) to complete the top seven nations.
Belgium (1,491pts) retains their number one spot in the world and the top five is completed by Argentina (1,455pts), Spain (1,370pts), Germany (1,347pts) and Chile (1,293pts).
