Nigeria remains indivisible – Senate President, David Mark


Senate President, Senator David Mark, Friday affirmed that Nigeria remains indivisible despite its many challenges.

Mark gave this assurance during his visit to Agatu, Apa and Ohimini local government areas of Benue South Senatorial Districts during this year’s ‘thank you’ constituency tour.

According to the Idoma-born retired soldier, through ceaseless prayers, Nigeria will overcome its many trouble.

He said: “We are all partners in progress of our dear country. This country belongs to every one of us, so we should not let it fail.

”We should stand firm and rally our support round all our leaders in order to succeed in their endeavour. It is when they succeed that we can talk of development and peaceful co-existence among various ethnicities in the country.

“Our prayers are paramount at this particular period in our land. We should pray for stability, peace and progress. We should pray for our leaders and Nigeria to continue to be an indivisible nation.”

Mark who was represented by his wife, Mrs. Helen Mark urged Nigerians to remember Mr. President, the Vice President, Senate President and other leaders at all levels of government in prayers.

He urged the people to believe in the present administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, noting that, the Transformation Agenda would surely affect the areas.

According to the statement, during the first day of the visit, 110 bags of Rice and N200, 000 were distributed to each of the three local government areas in the Constituency for the festive season. Other councils to be visited are, Ogbadibo, Okpokwu, Ado, Oju, Obi and Otukpo all in Benue South Senatorial district.

In their separate remarks, the Chairmen, Agatu, Apa and Ohimini local government areas, Stephen Dutse, Oyi Owoicho and Sunday Mark respectively thanked the Senate President (Okpokowulu K’Idoma) for building a better and united Idoma nation.
